Physical Security

The world can be dangerous and unpredictable. All organisations need to protect their property and to provide a safe environment for their staff and customers.

Physical security used to be relatively straightforward, a simple matter of deploying guards, and setting barriers and other access controls. But like everything else, physical security is going through profound changes. Smart technology for access control and surveillance often replaces guards and security often operates from lightly-manned control centres.

 

We are enthusiastic about the opportunities created by new technology. Indeed, we have been exploiting them in developing security architecture for new buildings with internationally acclaimed architects.

 

At the same time, we believe in the importance of the traditional approach that carefully analyses and prioritises a company’s physical assets, using criteria that reflect business needs. We then develop physical security measures appropriate to the asset in the question. This approach saves money by avoiding a “one size fits all” approach, where a company invests equal amounts of security cash and resources in all the physical assets across its estate.

 

As well as advising on risk mitigation, we also consider opportunities for managing risk through insurance or third-parties.
